Hawksworth UK is hiring for an Infrastructure IT Security Specialist for a global insurance firm based in Guildford, Surrey (40 mins from Waterloo St London). The role is hybrid working, with only 2 days required onsite per week, and 3 days working from home. The salary is up to £90,000 plus a great package.
As the Infrastructure IT Security Specialist, you will be responsible for governing, planning and delivering the safeguarding of the employer's UK infrastructure by enforcing robust security policies, managing technical controls, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. Ideally you will bring a strong technical foundation in Infrastructure IT security, a keen understanding of risk management frameworks, and the ability to collaborate across teams to drive continuous improvement.
Required skills and experience:
* 5+ years IT Security experience in blue‑chip clients & regulated environments.
* Good understanding of industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, and ITIL.
* Knowledge of patch and vulnerability management tools and practices.
* Understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles and technologies.
* Managing IT and application of information security principles in an outsourced service environment across infrastructure, networks and applications.
* Experience conducting risk assessments, especially from an information security and information technology perspective.
* Experience of creating and presenting executive summary reports.
* Beneficial experience with proxy servers, email gateways, firewalls, and routing devices.
* Strong understanding of communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP/S, SMTP), network architecture and security technologies.
