Main duties of the job include:
* Providing high-quality, person-centred clinical care that advocates for patients and supports clinical growth.
* Supporting the OT discharge service with assessment and rehabilitation.
* Assessing trauma and elective patients referred for Occupational Therapy.
* Taking equipment to patients’ homes and fitting items (training provided).
* Setting up and providing follow-up visits for prescribed equipment.
* Maintaining stock and liaising with outside agencies and families.
* Teaching patients and families how to use and fit equipment.
* Undertaking falls assessments.
The role is based at Frimley Park Hospital but requires travel between all Frimley Health hospitals and patients’ homes.

Qualifications and skills include:
* GCSE or equivalent in English and Mathematics
* Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and clinical aspects of the specialty
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Desirable qualifications include a Foundation Degree or willingness to work towards one.
Essential competencies include:
* Effective communication skills
* Ability to instruct and motivate
* Organizational and problem-solving skills
* IT skills
* Risk assessment capabilities
* Knowledge of equipment and minor adaptations
Professional experience required:
* Experience as a Band 3 Occupational Therapy assistant within an NHS setting
* Stock management, teamwork, patient interaction, and wheelchairs experience
Willingness to work flexibly, including a 7-day pattern and travel to patients’ properties for equipment provision.
