Starting salary for this role is £32,061 (pro rata for part‑time colleagues).

Support and Inclusion Officer – Domestic Abuse Focus
12 or 24 month Fixed Term.
About The Role
- Support households to remain in their homes or secure longer‑term housing solutions.
- Work creatively and collaboratively to prevent and relieve homelessness.
- Provide trauma‑informed support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.
- Deliver support in a variety of settings, including customers’ homes and temporary accommodation.
- Work closely with domestic abuse partner agencies to provide holistic, tailored support packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload and conduct regular home visits to assess housing needs and risks.
- Identify and assess support needs of individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, ensuring a trauma‑informed approach is embedded throughout the support process.
- Make timely and appropriate referrals to specialist domestic abuse services and other relevant partner agencies to ensure clients receive comprehensive and coordinated support.
- Work collaboratively with external agencies to develop and implement tailored support plans that address the specific needs and risks associated with domestic abuse.
- Support clients in temporary accommodation to transition into settled housing, including private rented, supported, and social housing.
- Provide advice and assistance to prevent eviction and sustain tenancies across various housing types.
- Negotiate with landlords, family members, and other stakeholders to prevent homelessness.
- Assist clients in accessing benefits, budgeting, and securing essential items for resettlement.
- Maintain accurate case notes and records in line with safeguarding and data protection policies.
- Attend and contribute to multi‑agency meetings, case conferences, and supervision sessions.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS check.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to travel across the BCP area.
- Completion of Level 1 and Level 2 Domestic Abuse training within the first month of employment.
- Completion of Survivor Trust Domestic Abuse training within three months of employment.
- Willingness to undertake further training as required.
- Applicants must have an existing right to work in the UK; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
