Shifts: 4 on 4 off (which includes 2 days and 2 nights)

The Role
We are currently seeking a multi‑skilled Mechanical & Electrical Fitter to join our award‑winning team at our Leeds Vehicle Maintenance Facility (LVMF). This role involves carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repair work on our fleet of locomotives to the highest engineering and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance, servicing, fault finding, and repairs on locomotives in line with approved maintenance schedules and plans.
* Ensure all work complies with their engineering standards, procedures, and safety requirements.
* Complete all maintenance documentation and repair records to company standards.
* Follow all health, safety, and local safety policy requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
* Maintain a high standard of workshop housekeeping, ensuring tools, equipment, and facilities remain clean and safe.
* Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency across the maintenance team.
What We’re Looking For
* A strong commitment to safe working practices.
* Experience gained through a formal apprenticeship or time‑served engineering background.
* Proven experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance activities.
* Knowledge of rolling stock systems (advantageous but not essential).
* A proactive approach, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work well within a team.
Additional Information
The depot operates a 24/7 shift roster, so flexibility with working hours is essential.
This position is subject to standard pre‑employment checks, including employment references, medical assessment, drugs & alcohol screening, and a DBS background check.
