We design, develop and manufacture solid propellant rocket motors for use in Defence & Security industry. This vacancy is for a position within the Engineering Design team which performs modelling, simulation and analysis of Rocket Motor designs throughout the product life cycle.
Specific areas of work will initially include internal ballistics which is used to predict, verify and analyse the performance of Rocket Motors. There is potential to expand into other areas of numerical simulation such as computational fluid dynamics, thermal and stress analysis of Rocket Motor propellant charges and structures
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES
1. Prediction of Rocket Motor performance using a variety of numerical modelling methods, varying from in-house tools to commercially available software.
2. Concepting and Design of new Rocket Motor systems which will involve engagement with external stakeholders and potential customers.
3. Analysis of the performance of Rocket Motor firing trials and assessment of these experimental results against performance requirements.
