Overview
To assess the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs of patients attending our integrated Contraception and Sexual Health (iCaSH) Services.
To work within iCaSH offering advice and treatments/procedures for patients who require SRH services.
To act in a responsible manner, being courteous at all times, with sensitivity towards the needs of the individual patient, recognising their right to dignity and privacy.
To support training and education to professionals, students and other agencies.
To work as a member of our iCaSH service with a willingness to undertake further training in SRH as required to support service development.
Responsibilities
* Assess the SRH needs of patients attending iCaSH services.
* Work within iCaSH offering advice and treatments/procedures for SRH patients.
* Be courteous at all times with sensitivity to patient dignity and privacy.
* Support training and education to professionals, students and other agencies.
* Contribute as a team member and undertake further SRH training as required to support service development.
Qualifications and Experience
* NMc Registered Nurse or NMC Registered midwife with a nationally recognised qualification in Sexual Health and/or Contraception (e.g., DFSRH, BASHH STIF) and a Letter of Competence in Intra Uterine Technique or willingness to undertake this training.
* Recent experience of working in sexual health (Contraception, GUM or equivalent).
* Ability to demonstrate competency in supply of treatments by Patient Group Directions (PGDs) and to work autonomously.
Role Details
* Role includes working Saturdays from 9-1 on a rotational basis and will require regular work at clinics in Dunstable and Bedford. Ability to travel across the county is an essential part of the job.
