JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties And Responsibilities

The primary role of the workshop technician is to carry out maintenance and refurbishment activities on ROV systems, associated tooling packages and/or Survey systems equipment in the Aberdeen workshop

Functions

ESSENTIAL

1. Carry out maintenance, (mobilisation, demobilisation, calibration, periodic and in-storage) and refurbishment activities on company and customer owned equipment
2. Perform preparation, mobilisation and demobilisation of ROV systems, associated tooling packages and/or Survey systems equipment
3. Ensure that all work is performed to conform to company operating and maintenance standards and in accordance with all current legislation
4. Update equipment maintenance systems to record details of all repairs and maintenance of company owned equipment
5. Participate in daily toolbox talks for workshop group
6. Participate in observation system and conduct STOP audits on a regular basis
7. Participate in safety training courses and initiatives
8. Ensure that all tasks are performed using correct procedures
9. Ensure compliance with HSE requirements prior to starting and during operations i.e. COSHH, HAVS, PUWER and LOLER
10. Participate in creation of Risk Assessments and JSEA
11. Participate in QHSE initiatives such as continuous improvement implementation and monitoring
12. Adopt and promote 6S and lean principals
13. Assist with any other duties as and when required

NON-ESSENTIAL

14. Participate in the company competence scheme to allow progression through company career framework.
15. If required, travel overseas and to offshore locations to provide onsite technical support
16. If required, attend project kick-off meetings to provide technical support

Safety
Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.


Other
Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence regarding the Integrated Management Systems on the Company.
Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

17. This position has NO direct supervisory responsibilities

Reporting Relationship

18. Reports to Workshop Supervisor
19. Will also take direction from Workshop Lead Technician, Production Manager and Equipment Coordinator, (Survey)


Qualifications

REQUIRED

20. City Guilds, SVQ level 3 in Mechanical and/or Hydraulic Engineering
21. Working knowledge of subsea equipment, including, but not limited to ROV systems, ROV Tooling and Survey Systems equipment
22. Demonstratable awareness of 6S and lean principles
23. Extensive experience of “working with pressure” i.e. pressure testing, (hydro and pneumatic)/ function testing
24. Working at heights experience
25. Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
26. Overhead crane certification

DESIRED

27. HNC /HND in Mechanical and/or Hydraulic Engineering
28. City and Guilds- Pressure Testing SCQF Level 6
29. Knowledge of subsea XT controls and operations
30. Knowledge of Manifold, Umbilical and Subsea XT installation operations
31. 6S Champion
32. Forklift Truck certification
