We are working closely alongside a local authority in Carmarthenshire t o assist with the appointment of a Street Cleansing Operative on a 3 - months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : £12.84 - £16.61 per hour Summary: The Street Cleansing Operative / Driver works either independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team to maintain the cleanliness of public spaces throughout the County of Carmarthenshire. The primary purpose of the role is the sweeping, collection, and removal of litter, dirt, leaves, and weeds from roads, pavements, and shopping precincts. This position combines manual labor with vehicle operation, requiring a proactive approach to environmental maintenance and public service. Responsibilities: Lifting, maneuvering, sorting, and returning a full range of refuse containers (household bins, wheelie bins, plastic sacks, etc.). Driving and taking responsibility for allocated vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes) and plant machinery, including routine cleaning and maintenance. Assisting drivers in safe vehicle maneuvering at tip locations and being fully conversant with the operation of fitted power mechanisms. Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974) and relevant Safe Systems of Work Essentials : Must hold a valid UK Driving License Category B (up to 3.5 tonne GVW). Previous experience working in front-line environmental or cleansing services. Understanding of relevant Health & Safety at Work legislation and the requirements of cleansing services.
