Yard Operative (Builders Merchant) – Full-Time Permanent Location: North Lanarkshire Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday working as required Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Tempro Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Yard Operative to join a well-established builders merchant based in North Lanarkshire. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys working in a busy yard environment and delivering excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles safely and efficiently. Picking, checking and preparing orders for collection and delivery. Maintaining a safe, clean and organised yard environment. Assisting customers with product collections and providing excellent service. Carrying out stock checks and supporting inventory control activities. Operating forklift trucks and other yard equipment in accordance with health and safety procedures. Ensuring all goods are stored correctly and safely within the yard and warehouse areas. Essential Requirements Previous experience working within a builders merchant, construction supplies, timber merchant, or similar environment. Valid Counterbalance FLT Licence. (Registered or inhouse) Strong understanding of yard operations and health & safety procedures. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required. Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties. Desirable Experience handling timber, aggregates, building materials, or construction products. Additional FLT certifications or warehouse experience. Driving licence.
