You will be working for a leading provider of housing, care and support services.
Your new role
As a Support Worker, your main responsibility will be to provide practical and emotional support to vulnerable residents, whilst preparing regular Risk Assessments and working with existing Support Plans. You will help your clients to sustain their tenancies and involve them in themunity, monitor their wellbeing and refer to more specialist staff where required. The role will require signposting to specialist agencies and offering assistance with budgeting and housing legislation.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A RESIDENTIAL ROLE AND, AS SUCH, WILL ENTAIL WORKING TO A 7 DAY PER WEEK ROTA.
There are two roles available; For one, you will need previous experience working within the Care and Support sector and understand the issues affecting those suffering from Learning Disabilities, ideally within a residential environment. You will also need to be confident when dealing with individuals with challenging behaviour and proficient at using Microsoft packages, with excellent teamwork skills, demonstrating both collaboration and respect with peers and customers.
For the other, we are open to people who are keen to join the sector and either have studied Health and Social Care at GCSE or similar, or instead have experience of caring for a family member or friend. This can be a fantastic way into the industry and allow you to start your career with a hugepany.
