Paediatric Specialist Physiotherapist – Fixed Term
Fixed Term: 12 months | Full-time. 2 days ago – be among the first 25 applicants. We are looking for a Paediatric Specialist Physiotherapist for a temporary rotational position, offering nine monthly rotations across acute and community services.
Job Summary
This unique role offers the chance to develop paediatric physiotherapy expertise across inpatients, outpatients, and community settings. You will be responsible for advanced assessments, diagnoses, and treatment programmes for children with a range of conditions, and independently manage your caseload.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialised and high‑standard physiotherapy care within the physiotherapy team and multi‑professional teams during each rotation.
* Perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessments of children presenting with a wide range of conditions and problems, provide a physiotherapy diagnosis, and develop and deliver individualised treatment programmes.
* Independently manage a personal caseload of children within a defined area, working without direct supervision.
* Access advice, training, and support from senior physiotherapists while undertaking clinical duties as a developing autonomous practitioner.
Qualifications & Training
Essential:
* HPHC registration
* Diploma or degree in Physiotherapy
* Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio, including attendance at recent postgraduate courses and in‑service training
* Portfolio evidence of reflective practice
Desirable:
* Membership of the CSP
* Membership of APCP
Experience
Essential:
* Significant and relevant experience, especially respiratory care and knowledge of a broad variety of conditions.
* Experience working as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Experience working with children either professionally or socially.
Desirable:
* Significant paediatric caseload experience in an acute or community setting, including acute respiratory rotation.
* Student or assistant supervision experience.
* Involvement in audit, research or service evaluation.
* Recent experience of working within on‑call services, paediatric on‑call experience.
Knowledge & Skills
* Understanding of professional legal responsibilities and clinical governance.
* Knowledge of family/team dynamics and child‑care relationship building.
* Awareness of the impact of disability/hospitalisation on children and families.
* Data protection, confidentiality, and health & safety compliance.
* Competent IT skills.
* Strong communication, organisation, delegation, and record‑keeping abilities.
* Capability to work in stressful or emotionally challenging environments.
Personal Attributes
* High level of interpersonal skills.
* Access to a car and evidence of car insurance for commutes and equipment delivery.

Salary and Contract
Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per annum (Band 6). Contract: Fixed term, 12 months, full‑time.
