Join Our Wellbeing Team and Make a Meaningful Difference At Dougie Mac we believe that every person deserves compassionate, holistic care throughout their palliative and end-of-life journey. Our multidisciplinary teams work closely together to support patients, families and those important to them, tending not only to physical needs but also emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual wellbeing. We are now seeking an inspiring and skilled SPARCS Lead to join our Wellbeing Service, guiding and shaping the delivery of exceptional spiritual and pastoral support across the hospice. Key Responsibilities As our SPARCS Lead, you will play a central role in ensuring patients and families receive inclusive, person-centred spiritual, pastoral and religious care, whatever their beliefs, traditions or worldviews. Your responsibilities will include: Leading and coordinating the SPARCS service, including children and young people across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Providing high-quality, sensitive and culturally competent spiritual and pastoral support to patients, families and carers. Supervising, mentoring and developing the SPARCS team and volunteers. Working collaboratively with the wellbeing services teams and clinical teams as part of a holistic, multidisciplinary approach. Ensuring compliance with national standards and best practice in spiritual care within hospice and palliative settings. Developing and delivering training for staff and volunteers on spiritual assessment, compassionate conversations and culturally responsive care. Contributing to service evaluation, audits, and ongoing development to ensure continuous improvement. About You We are looking for someone who is: A reflective, grounded and compassionate practitioner with significant experience in spiritual, pastoral or religious care. Skilled in supporting individuals of all faiths, worldviews and cultural backgrounds, including those who do not identify with a particular belief system. Confident in working sensitively with people experiencing loss, uncertainty and end-of-life transitions. An effective leader who can nurture a team, inspire trust and model inclusive, person-centred practice. Able to work collaboratively, communicate clearly and maintain healthy professional boundaries. Familiar with contemporary approaches to spiritual care within healthcare or hospice environments. Relevant training or accreditation in chaplaincy, spiritual care, counselling, theology, pastoral studies, or a related field is desirable. Experience in palliative care is an advantage but not essential. This role will require applicants to hold a valid driving licence. Why Join the Wellbeing Services at Dougie Mac?
