We are looking for an AR Optical Development Engineer to join the Optical Engine Delivery Team at Snap Inc.
What you’ll do:
* Help transfer designs and processes to contract manufacturers & partners
* Understand optical experimental methodology and have experience in an optical lab environment
* Analyze process data from manufacturers and support failure analysis
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
* Strong optical engineering experience with a focus on manufacturing and processes
* Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing needs
* Prototyping and analysis of opto-mechanical designs
Minimum Qualifications:
* BSc in Physics, Optics, or relevant engineering experience
* Experience transferring optical designs to manufacturers
* Proficiency with optical (e.g., Zemax) and mechanical (e.g., SolidWorks) design software
Preferred Qualifications:
* 5+ years experience in optical engineering or a PhD in physics, optics, or engineering
* Understanding of manufacturing processes
* Experience with mechanical design and rapid prototyping
* Experience in display testing, image quality evaluation, colorimetry, and radiometry
* Experience with AR/VR systems and micro displays
* Understanding of polarising and diffractive optics
* Software skills (e.g., Python, LabView)
