Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship – Wymondham High Academy (Part of Enrich Learning Trust) Enrich Learning Trust is a collaborative family of schools committed to innovation, high standards, and empowering young people to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. Based at Wymondham High Academy, this role will also support Diss High School and Long Stratton High School, providing a dynamic environment to develop your IT skills across multiple sites. We are looking for a motivated and tech-savvy individual to join us as an IT Solutions Technician Apprentice, supporting the delivery, maintenance and security of IT systems across the Trust. Apprenticeship Summary: • Salary: £15,392 a year (based on £8 per hour) • Working Week: Monday to Thursday 8am – 4pm, Friday 8am – 3:30pm (30-minute unpaid break daily) • Hours: 37 hours per week • Online apprenticeship training supported by our skilled tutors • Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship • Location: Wymondham High Academy, Folly Road, Wymondham, Norfolk, NR18 0QT The Role: This role involves supporting the IT infrastructure across Enrich Learning Trust, with a focus on maintaining reliable network access, ensuring cybersecurity, and assisting staff and students with IT systems and equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT services, responding to helpdesk requests, maintaining hardware and software, and contributing to ongoing IT projects. Main Duties: Troubleshoot and resolve IT incidents and service requests via the helpdesk system. • Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software on workstations. • Support network infrastructure, including Wi-Fi, servers, and switches. • Maintain and support systems such as Microsoft 365 and MIS platforms. • Set up and remove user accounts and manage access permissions. • Prepare, check, and maintain IT equipment such as laptops and iPads. • Assist staff and students with IT-related issues and provide guidance. • Carry out routine maintenance, including printer support and hardware cleaning. • Perform minor repairs to IT equipment. • Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and ensure proper security marking. • Support cybersecurity measures and promote safe IT use. • Assist with IT projects and contribute to implementation tasks. • Set up and support audio-visual equipment for lessons, assemblies, and events. • Film and edit school events where required. • Support examination processes involving IT and audio-visual materials. • Liaise with external suppliers for equipment and services. • Ensure compliance with GDPR, data protection, and licensing regulations. • Attend occasional evening events to provide technical support. • Promote safeguarding, confidentiality, and appropriate IT usage. • Undertake training and development as required. • Carry out other duties appropriate to the role as directed. The Candidate: Qualifications, Qualities & Experience • Good general education with GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above), including Maths, English, and IT/Computing • Interest in IT, networking, and technical support • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Good communication and customer service skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Organised with good time management skills • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills • Professional and approachable manner • Respect for equality, diversity, and inclusion • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times • Full driving licence (desirable) Training and Development: As an apprentice, you will receive support through both on-the-job learning and formal training as part of your apprenticeship programme. This will typically include: · Study towards a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician qualification · Hands-on experience supporting IT systems across multiple schools · Mentoring from experienced IT professionals · Regular progress reviews and development support What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
