Job Description
Job Title: Project Engineer Electrical
Location: Portsmouth. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements
Salary: Up to £38,500 dependent on skills and experience
Responsibilities
* Supporting resolution of T45 and production queries promptly, ensuring alignment with safety and design intent.
* Conducting engineering investigations and providing technical and maintenance support to Ops, COMs, and Project Management.
* Reviewing T45 project plans with ship’s staff, COM, and Ops to confirm adequate engineering content, acceptance levels, and integration of safety and quality requirements within the Project HazID and Quality Scope.
* Responding to a range of electrical and technical queries on installations, documentation, and material alternatives.
* Making engineering decisions within delegated authority and design intent.
* Identifying training needs, skills gaps, and development opportunities within your discipline.
* Supporting application of MOD safety and environmental systems, BAE Systems Engineering Governance, and Product Safety Frameworks.
* Assisting T45 production and delivery teams in applying and meeting technical requirements and standards.
* Contributing to the development, maintenance, and improvement of engineering processes and procedures in response to technical and operational changes.
* Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge, sharing best practice, and providing expertise and technical support to others.
Your Skills and Experiences
* Understanding of a Maritime Marine environment but other industries would be considered.
* Understanding and experience of electrical systems and technical drawings.
* Some experience of repair, maintenance and integration of ships systems and equipment.
* Ability to provide technical support and troubleshooting responses in assigned areas to operational units or other activities.
* Able to research and look up technical information to support decision making in accordance with relevant standards.
* Making sound judgements based on experience.

The Project Engineering Electrical team: Working within a supportive team of 4-5 professionals that form part of a wider Project Engineering Management team of 50 engineers.
