Job Title: Children and Families Social WorkerHourly Rate: £21.70-£27.56Location: Stockton-on-TeesJob Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Children and Families Social Worker to join our dedicated team in Stockton-on-Tees. You will play a crucial role in working with children and families who are experiencing difficulties, conducting thorough assessments, developing and implementing effective support plans, and working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to improve outcomes for children and families.Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families, utilising a range of assessment tools and methodologies. This involves working directly with families, schools, and other relevant agencies to gather information and make informed judgements.
* Develop detailed and well-supported care plans that clearly articulate the child's or family's needs and risks, and set out strategies to address those needs and mitigate risks.
* Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to case discussions and decision-making. This requires strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Liaise effectively with other professionals, including social workers, health visitors, educational psychologists, and police, sharing assessment findings and contributing to collaborative working.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, adhering to all relevant legislation and professional guidelines. This involves meticulous record-keeping, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations. You will be expected to use the Council's electronic case management system.
* Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the team's services. This involves participating in regular supervision and contributing to team meetings and training.
* Participate in regular supervision and training opportunities.
Essential Criteria:
* A recognised Social Work qualification
* Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
* Significant post-qualifying experience in children social work.
* Excellent assessment, analytical, and report writing skills.
* Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience working within a children and families team.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and policy frameworks (e.g., Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children).
* Experience with case management software.
