Rate of Pay: £35.94 - £48.33 per hour
Summary:
An opportunity has arisen to support the Transport Strategy Manager in delivering a programme of bus infrastructure improvements funded through the Department for Transports Bus Settlement Fund. The role will manage a portfolio of projects including bus shelters, accessibility improvements, real-time information systems, lighting, and related infrastructure, ensuring delivery in line with the Bus Service Improvement Plan and Island Transport Plan.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver a programme of local bus infrastructure schemes
* Manage multiple work packages using structured project management approaches
* Lead procurement and commissioning of contractors and suppliers
* Oversee project budgets, timelines, risk management, and quality assurance
* Ensure compliance with national design standards (accessibility and safety)
* Produce clear governance documentation and reports for boards and committees
Essential Requirements:
* Experience delivering infrastructure or transportation projects
* Strong project management skills, including governance, risk, and budget management
* Experience managing external contractors and procurement processes
* Ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders and community groups
* Knowledge of highways, transportation, or public sector infrastructure delivery
