Position: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Locations: Hounslow, Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hammersmith & Fulham, Acton, and surrounding areas Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Long-term / Term-time only Salary: £85–£115 per day (depending on experience and role) Start Date: Immediate and September Starts Available About the Role We are recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs) to work across a range of primary, secondary, and specialist schools throughout West and North West London. These schools are seeking individuals who are passionate about inclusive education and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs to reach their full potential. This role involves supporting children and young people with a variety of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), speech and language difficulties, global developmental delay, and learning difficulties. Support may be provided on a one-to-one basis, in small intervention groups, or within a classroom setting. You will be working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams to ensure pupils receive consistent, structured, and nurturing support throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities Provide targeted support to pupils with SEN to enable access to learning Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), EHCP targets, and behaviour plans Assist pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social development Promote positive behaviour and engagement using agreed strategies Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs Support pupils during transitions, lessons, and unstructured times Encourage independence, resilience, and confidence Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote pupil welfare Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and supportive learning environment The Ideal Candidate We are looking for candidates who are: Patient, calm, and empathetic Passionate about SEN and inclusive education Confident supporting pupils with complex needs or challenging behaviour Flexible and adaptable to different school environments Strong communicators with a team-focused mindset Reliable, proactive, and committed to pupil wellbeing Essential Requirements Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school, care, or youth setting) Understanding of common SEN conditions and support strategies Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Right to work in the UK Desirable (Not Essential) SEN qualifications or training (e.g. Team Teach, Autism awareness, SEND Level 2/3) Background in psychology, education, youth work, or care Experience in specialist provisions or SEN units Why Work Across These Areas?
