Senior Social Worker – Wolfson Unit
Sanctuary Personnel has a permanent position for a Senior Social Worker at the Wolfson Unit, Waltham Forest. The role is full-time, based in Waltham Forest.
Base Pay Range
Up to £55,992 per annum.
Responsible Areas
* Form part of the Management Team, provide motivational leadership, and work alongside staff.
* Provide regular strengths‑based supervision to social care staff to develop practice.
* Explain Corporate values, behaviours, equality, diversity, and inclusion to the service.
* Model the highest standards of Social Work practice.
* Conduct regular case file audits to support learning and professional development.
* Assist with budget management to ensure consistent workflow and timely completion of work steps, including quality assurance of assessments, support plans, and reviews.
* Act as Safeguarding Adults Manager and chair protection of vulnerable adults meetings where required.
* Take effective action to assess, record, manage, and reduce risk to the service, people with care and support needs, and their carers, in line with Council and partner policies.
* Take responsibility as part of the management team for service performance and support improvement where necessary.
* Communicate the vision and priorities of the Department and how they contribute to the service.
* Represent Adult Social Care positively in meetings with partners such as the NHS, providers, and the voluntary sector.
* Support practitioners to build confidence and skills to work effectively with people, acting as coach/mentor.
* Other reasonable duties, including supporting emergency and priority situations.
Requirements
* A social work qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Registered or eligible for registration.
* Substantial post‑qualification experience in statutory social care or health settings.
