Join us as a Lift Service Engineer
We are looking to recruit a Lift Service Engineer to support our customer communications, complement and support the management team. The successful candidate will carry out planned preventative maintenance regimes as determined by the contract terms for lift equipment in the Birmingham / Midlands area.
Your main responsibilities
• Carry out routine servicing of lift equipment, including minor repair work and routine replacement of components, in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE, PDA, Expert+ etc).
• Rectify and reduce faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
• Check lift function as part of maintenance; checks to include speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature and power supplies using approved company-issued tooling and protective equipment.
• Conduct routine inspection and adjustment of lifts in accordance with approved procedures; reinstate lift/escalator and complete service documentation.
• Carry out more advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
What you bring
• Experience in lift servicing, maintenance or repair preferred.
• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 minimum in lift maintenance or equivalent.
• Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi‑brand equipment.
• Advanced problem‑solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines and within efficiencies.
• Ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
• Manual dexterity – requires use of hands, arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
• Proven fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
