The work will appeal to an "all rounder" able to work under their own initiative and who can also relate well to residents, visitors and other staff members. A trade qualification would be beneficial but not essential. Own vehicle and a valid driving licence are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Delivery and collection of supplies, including trips to Post Office, GP surgeries, as required.
* Receiving, unloading and storing items as required.
* Supporting Head of Maintenance with the general up keep of the home, to include decorating.
* To check the maintenance log and to attend to any faults listed.
* Assist in the movement of equipment and furniture in the home as maybe deemed necessary.
* Assist in routine testing of fire alarms and emergency lighting systems.
* Collection and movement of clinical waste.
* General upkeep of the exterior and the grounds.
* Undertake statutory training as required, including Health and Safety etc.
* Ensure storage areas and outside sheds are kept tidy and that emergency exits are free from obstruction in conjunction with the Home Manager.
* To be aware of emergency procedures, including fire precautions and drill.
* In conjunction with other members of staff, ensure that good communications with residents, relatives and other visitors are maintained.
