The Role During your 13‑month placement you will be hands‑on from day one, actively involved in business projects, and your experience and knowledge will be utilised and strengthened. You’ll be based in our Weymouth office, working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to real business outcomes.
We have an opportunity for you to join our Strategic Procurement team. This unique role blends Procurement Engineering and Commodity Management, giving you hands‑on exposure to both the technical and strategic aspects of sourcing. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful procurement initiatives that support innovation and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
* Support new product development, enabling design decisions based on cost and supplier selection.
* Contribute to cost‑saving initiatives through value engineering and alternative sourcing.
* Develop and maintain commodity strategies aligned with the company’s business goals.
* Monitor cost drivers and supply risks to inform sourcing decisions.
* Assist with supplier selection and contract preparation.
* Support supplier reviews and performance improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate with other teams to align procurement strategies.
About You
* Interested in procurement, supplier management, and commercial strategy.
* Familiar with basic procurement principles and concepts.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
* Able to communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams and suppliers.
* Organised and capable of managing multiple tasks.
* Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn in a changeable environment.
* Committed to professional development and contributing to team success.
