We are looking for a dedicated Compliance Manager to join our team, the successful candidate will bring a mix of technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills as well as a strong project management background. The role will cover 3 sites: Plymouth, Dawlish & Dartington
As Compliance Manager, you will ensure all developments meet legal, regulatory, and quality standards while upholding the company's reputation for excellence. Acting as the guardian of compliance, you will enable our team to deliver award-winning homes responsibly, safely, and sustainably.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee compliance with building regulations, planning permissions, CDM regulations, health & safety, and environmental standards.
* Develop, implement, and monitor company compliance policies and procedures across all projects.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits, providing monthly reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
* Work with project managers, architects, and contractors to embed compliance at every stage of development.
* Liaise with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and external consultants on compliance-related matters.
* Provide training and guidance to staff and subcontractors to ensure full understanding of compliance requirements.
* Identify risks early and implement effective solutions without compromising design quality or delivery timelines.
* Maintain accurate records, documentation, and certifications to evidence compliance across all developments.
Core Skills & Attributes
* Strong knowledge of UK construction law, health & safety (CDM 2015), planning and environmental regulations.
* Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex regulations into practical site-based actions.
* Proven track record in risk management and regulatory compliance in the construction sector.
* Skilled communicator with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders at all levels, especially our work team.
* Proactive problem solver, balancing compliance with project momentum and creativity.
* High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to ethical practice.
* Ability to lead training and inspire a culture of compliance and safety.
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, RICS, CIOB, or equivalent).
* Minimum 3 years' experience in construction compliance, health & safety, or related fields.
* Experience working within residential and commercial developments, preferably with heritage and new-build projects.
* Knowledge of sustainability frameworks and environmental compliance desirable.
