Teaching Assistant – 1:1 EYFS SEN Support
West Cornwall | Start: September 2025 | ⏰ Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
A welcoming primary school in West Cornwall is seeking a Level 2 or 3 qualified Teaching Assistant with strong SEN experience to work 1:1 with a pupil joining their EYFS class.
* Creating a safe, supportive learning space using a calm, consistent approach.
* Applying proven SEN strategies such as visual timetables, sensory breaks, and pictorial prompts.
* Delivering targeted interventions to support academic progress and emotional regulation.
* Supporting speech and language development in partnership with the SENCo and external specialists.
* Providing lunchtime welfare cover as part of the role.
We are looking for someone who:
* Holds a recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
* Has previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, particularly within EYFS or primary settings.
* Understands the needs of pupils with autism, communication difficulties, or social and emotional needs.
* Is patient, adaptable, and able to use initiative in a busy school environment.
* Is committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.

This role is initially temporary, with the potential to become permanent. An Enhanced DBS is essential, and support is available to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
