We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time Finance Assistant in Cambridge, UK. The Opportunity Contract: 9 month fixed term contract (which may become permanent) Hours: 25 hours per week Salary: Competitive You will be required to work on site, as part of a small and friendly team. The primary purpose of the role is to support the finance team in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation and take responsibility for the efficient processing of purchase requisitions and orders. We are ideally looking for a candidate who can work across 5 days per week, but are open to considering other working patterns. Main areas of responsibility include: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries with suppliers Process payment runs to suppliers Manage accounts receivable and credit control Process bank/cash book entries Process month end journals to support expenses, credit card processing and others as required Manage process for customer and vendor setup Process purchase requisitions and sales orders on the ERP system Ensure goods and services are receipted in a timely manner Provide cover as required for the Workplace & Facilities Co-ordinator What we are looking for Self-motivated and proactive nature, showing initiative to improve processes Thorough, diligent, exercising a high level of accuracy Open, honest, inclusive A team player resourceful and able to use initiative Able to adapt to changing business requirements Ability to maintain confidentiality Experience and skills Proactive, open, honest, inclusive, personable, flexible, self-motivated, uses own initiative Excellent written and verbal communication Good interpersonal skills Must have a flexible approach to work and is able to prioritise work effectively Technical requirements GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English Accounting Technician Certificate would be an advantage but not essential What you will get in return In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a generous holiday allowance and a company pension scheme (8% employer contribution).
