Here’s Why We Need you (aka job purpose) The role of Compliance Business Partner is essential in ensuring SunLife Limited are satisfying and continues to satisfy its regulatory compliance requirements and lead to good customer outcomes. The role holder will engage with key stakeholders, acting as a business Partner providing relevant and timely regulatory advice and guidance, aiding the business in proactively managing its regulatory risks whilst balancing its commercial outcomes. The role holder will provide advice and guidance on multiple regulatory matters, across multiple products and distribution channels sales. You will act as a trusted advisor to the business aiding in considering regulatory risks, as well as helping the business to design compliant and proportionate solutions. The role holder is required to maintain and share up to date regulatory knowledge to ensure regulatory understanding is suitably maintained, including the design and delivery of appropriate training on regulatory topics, as required. This role presents an opportunity for the role holder to be the bridge between the commercial success of the business and the maintenance of regulatory compliance forging strong business relationships based on open and honest discussion and the delivery of mutual goals. Evidence of the ability to manage multiple priorities whilst remaining level-headed and knowing when to ask for help Here’s what you’ll do for us (accountabilities) 1. You’ll operate as a Business Partner for the SLL L2 Compliance Function, providing timely and decisive support to the business in its strategic and BAU activities, seeking to look around regulatory corners and anticipate issues before they arise. 2. You’ll provide feedback and training to stakeholders at varying levels of experience and seniority, that helps educate and inform improved governance controls, feeding into process improvement plans. 3. You’ll provide input into the firm’s incident management processes to ensure that regulatory breaches are appropriately recognised and reported, and that appropriate remedial action is taken with agreed actions monitored to closure. 4. You’ll undertake relevant SLL Regulatory Horizon Scanning activities, providing concise and proportionate reporting both written and verbal to the business, setting out business specific interpretation and advice on complex queries, using knowledge of the rules to identify the impact for the business and formulate opinions. 5. You’ll provide quality reporting on the firm’s management of regulatory compliance and conduct risk matters through various fora and mediums. 6. You’ll undertake second line Quality Assurance and oversight assessment activities on SLL Financial Promotion Materials, in line with internal controls, providing rigour to the production, approval and maintenance of compliant communications. conducting ad hoc assurance activity on key financial promotion communications beyond approval ensuring verification and full context of content is reviewed to a clear standard. 7. You’ll oversee and facilitate the completion of all mandated FCA regulatory reporting in SLL, including the quarterly completion of the Retail Mediation Activities Return (RMAR). 8. You’ll actively contribute to development of relevant Compliance policies and standards including those as set out under the SM&CR regime, as well as to providing support to the business to adhere to current regulatory policies and standards. 9.
