Our Manufacturing client based in Sutton In Ashfield is seeking an experienced HSE and Quality individual to join their business on a permanent basis.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm (30 minute unpaid daily break)
Salary: Up to £35k
Mission Statement: To manage the day-to-day Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental compliance. The role will lead continuous improvement initiatives, maintain ISO certifications, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting standardisation across the group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Health & Safety (Primary Focus):
* Lead and maintain compliance with ISO 45001 standards.
* Ensure adherence to all relevant Health & Safety regulations.
* Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.
* Promote a proactive safety culture across the site.
* Deliver H&S training and toolbox talks as required.
* Quality & Environmental (Secondary Focus):
* Maintain and improve ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems.
* Conduct root cause analysis and respond to internal and external Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
* Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives across departments.
* Supervise and support customer and internal audits.
* Ensure all documentation is maintained and ready for submission to relevant bodies.
Complaint Investigation & Resolution:
* Liaise with the Contracts Team to understand complaint context.
* Analyse production records and customer feedback.
* Conduct SCRA (Symptoms, Causes, Remedies, Actions) investigations.
* Provide traceability and resolution reports to stakeholders.
* Visit customer sites for investigations when necessary.
Team Leadership & Development:
* Lead and develop the Quality team.
* Conduct interviews, onboarding, performance reviews, and manage attendance.
* Handle disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with company policy.
* Collaborate with HR and Occupational Health as needed.
Compliance & Documentation:
* Maintain calibration records and coordinate third-party testing.
* Ensure all compliance records are stored electronically and are audit-ready.
* Manage distribution and calibration of measuring equipment.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
* Work closely with the Quality Manager, Production Team, and Group H&S to ensure standardisation and best practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
* NEBOSH Qualification (Essential)
* Proven experience in Health & Safety leadership, ideally within a production or manufacturing environment
* Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards
* Experience in root cause analysis, NCR management, and continuous improvement
* Strong audit and compliance background
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
