Overview

We are looking for staff nurses to join our team in our newly built wards encompassing Respiratory Medicine, Rheumatology and General Medicine. Main duties of the job

* To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care with minimal supervision.
* To implement and be responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care.
* To carry out all administrative and nursing duties as delegated by the team leader and senior sister.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

* Current (or pending) NMC Registration

Desirable criteria

* Dementia course or study days
* Respiratory course or study days


Experience

Essential criteria

* Recent experience within a medical nursing environment
* Working as part of a team in a demanding environment

Desirable criteria

* Previous experience managing patients with chronic medical conditions


Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria

* Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
* Good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage difficult / stressful situations
* Able to prioritise workload (self and others) and meet deadlines
* Awareness of current professional nursing issues


Special Requirements

Essential criteria

* To work in other areas of the department when required
* Able to work flexible shifts, weekends and bank holidays as required
