The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our team at EDF Renewables in Ireland.
As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will drive the commercial mandate for the business, focusing on growth strategies that maximize value and successfully deliver projects within business case parameters. You will lead commercial development strategies for a pipeline of multi-technology renewable energy projects, manage deal acquisitions, transactions, and ensure successful project completions and equity investment approvals. Securing suitable sites and negotiating land agreements with stakeholders will also be key responsibilities.

What you'll be doing
We need someone to identify and evaluate potential land sites for wind, solar, and battery renewable energy projects. If that’s you, you will also:
Business Knowledge and Experience
* Lead the business’s commercial activities and be part of the leadership team in Ireland, delivering the strategy.
* Provide leadership to ensure projects are developed and delivered to maximize value, meet business case requirements, and manage stakeholder input.
* Secure Final Investment Decisions (FiD) through coordination with external and internal stakeholders.
* Expand relationships within EDF Group and externally to identify growth opportunities, representing the business at industry forums.
* Produce performance reports and board papers to update on pipeline progress and commercial activities.
* Support strategy, budget, and business planning with the Head of Onshore Technologies.
* Ensure strategic and project resource needs are met through close collaboration with senior management.
* Develop and coach the business development & commercial team, fostering an inclusive culture and clear development pathways.
* Lead and promote a safety-focused team culture within EDF Renewables.
Functional / Technical Skills
* Manage business development activities, including acquisitions, disposals, and partnerships.
* Identify innovative routes to market and optimize revenue opportunities.
* Act as Bid Manager, ensuring governance protocols for auction processes are followed.
* Evaluate financial aspects of investments and conduct cash-flow modeling.
* Scan the market for new commercial opportunities and produce techno-commercial appraisals.
* Lead decision-making during project maturation stages, ensuring governance and policy compliance.
