Overview
We are looking for a friendly, flexible and conscientious individual to join our small Catering team at Alnwick infirmary Hospital working as a Cook / Catering Supervisor.
The regular shift requirement for this role is 5 x 7.5 hour shifts between Monday – Sunday, with a share of either 7am-3pm or 10pm-6pm. Enhanced rate applies to weekend and bank holiday hours. Other hours may be available and we are also looking to recruit to our staff bank.

Must be able to demonstrate an awareness of the Food Safety Act and work to the highest standards in both quality and hygiene.
To comply with all mandatory training requirements for Hygiene, Fire, Manual Handling and any other training deemed necessary for the efficient running of catering services.

Responsibilities
* Receive goods and produce, check quality, temperature and correct quantity as per orders to suppliers.
* Store goods in the appropriate area within the time limits set out in the department policy on HACCP.
* Demonstrate working knowledge and compliance with the department policy on HACCP.
* Prepare food for patients and/or staff using cook/chill products and fresh produce; check temperature levels and be aware of Food Temperature Regulations.
* Supervise the small team whilst on duty.
* Demonstrate computer literacy sufficient to use the online rostering and ordering systems in place.
* Provide a high quality catering service for patients, staff and visitors trust-wide, and maintain cleanliness of workstations (clean as you go).
Qualifications and requirements
* Working knowledge and compliance with the department policy on HACCP.
* Ability to prepare food for patients and/or staff using both cook/chill products and fresh produce; able to check temperature levels and be aware of the Food Temperature Regulations.
* Ability to demonstrate awareness of the Food Safety Act and work to high standards of quality and hygiene.
* Computer literacy sufficient to use online rostering and ordering systems.
* Must be prepared to undertake mandatory training for Hygiene, Fire, Manual Handling and other required training.
