Responsibilities: Provide Targeted Support – Assist students with moderate to severe learning difficulties across Early Years to Post-16, delivering tailored support to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs. Facilitate Access to Learning – Adapt resources and instructional strategies to enable full participation in a differentiated curriculum within small class settings. Support in Specialist Environments – Assist students during sessions in facilities such as the hydrotherapy pool, multi-sensory rooms, and therapy spaces, always ensuring safety and engagement. Promote Independence and Personal Development – Encourage students to develop life skills, confidence, and independence through structured activities and enrichment programmes. Collaborate with the Wider Team – Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to implement individualised education and care plans effectively. Requirements: Experience Supporting Students with SEN – Proven experience working with children or young people with moderate to severe learning difficulties, preferably in an educational or care setting. Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills – Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents, and to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Adaptability and Patience – A calm, flexible, and empathetic approach to supporting diverse learning and behavioural needs within a nurturing environment. Commitment to Inclusive Education – A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs and a dedication to promoting equality, respect, and personal growth. Willingness to Engage in Specialist Activities – Comfortable supporting pupils in activities such as hydrotherapy, sensory programmes, and therapeutic interventions, with appropriate training provided where necessary.
