Position Overview
We are working with a large, inclusive primary school in Wembley seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs within the classroom. The role begins in September 2025, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm. Join a school that balances high expectations with a strong pastoral ethos. The team is experienced, well-organised, and values proactive, perceptive, and consistent support staff.
Responsibilities
1. Supporting pupils with needs such as autism (ASD) and speech and language difficulties, often in a 1:1 capacity.
2. Building strong, focused working relationships with pupils.
3. Supporting children across the 4–11 age range.
4. Supporting with personal care when working in Reception, if required.
Requirements
* At least 3 months' experience supporting SEND in a UK primary school setting.
* A full UK Level 3 qualification (in any subject area).
* Confidence working 1:1 with children, particularly those with additional needs.
* Comfortable supporting across the 4–11 age range.
* A calm, flexible approach and clear communication skills.
* Willingness to support with personal care in Reception, if needed.

* Can follow routines but adapts quickly to changes.
* Builds quiet rapport with children who may not always use words.
* Values consistency in supporting children with SEND.
