Job Title: 3rd Line Service Desk Engineer

Location: West Yorkshire - Office based with some occasional client visit when required

Overview

We are a progressive IT Managed Service Provider based in West Yorkshire seeking a 3rd Line Engineer to join our growing technical team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled and motivated engineer with a experience in infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and cloud technologies.

You’ll be responsible for managing escalated incidents, delivering some projects, and maintaining the IT estate across over 300 client networks. This is a key technical role requiring deep expertise across a range of technologies.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide high-quality 3rd line support for complex technical incidents escalated from the service desk.
* Deliver and support various infrastructure-related projects.
* Independently manage and deliver small-scale projects.
* Monitor, maintain, and enhance the infrastructure environments of multiple clients (300+ networks).

Essential Technical Skills

* Microsoft Windows Server (2008-2022/2025)
* Microsoft Exchange
* Active Directory Services
* Microsoft Office 365 (including SharePoint, Intune, and Entra)
* Microsoft Desktop OS (Windows 10/11)
* Terminal Services / Remote Desktop Services (RDS)

Virtualization & Cloud

* Hyper-V
* Citrix XenApp / XenDesktop
* Virtualization and virtual machine management
* Cloud platforms:
* Microsoft Azure
* Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Networking & Security

* Networking fundamentals: IP, WANs, LANs
* VLAN configuration and management
* Routing and switching
* Firewall configuration and troubleshooting
* Network security best practices

Storage & Scripting

* SAN/Storage management
* RAID configuration (RAID1, RAID5, RAID10, RAID50, etc.)
* PowerShell scripting for automation and administrative tasks

Attributes

* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment
* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
* Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
* Passion for learning and staying up to date with emerging technologies
