Job Title: Air Conditioning Engineer
Location: Cambridgeshire (with travel across surrounding counties as required)
Salary: £35,000 £42,000 per annum (depending on experience) + overtime + vehicle + benefits
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and reliable Air Conditioning Engineer to join our growing team. This is a field-based role covering Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas, focusing on breakdowns, service, and maintenance of a wide range of air conditioning systems. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs on commercial and residential air conditioning systems (split, multi-split, VRV/VRF).
* Diagnose faults and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
* Perform routine servicing and performance checks to ensure systems operate efficiently.
* Complete service reports, job sheets, and other documentation to a high standard.
* Liaise professionally with clients to provide updates and advice.
* Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation and company policies.
* Participate in a shared on-call rota for emergency breakdowns (usually evenings and weekends).
Requirements: Essential:
* Minimum 3 years experience in air conditioning service and maintenance.
* Strong knowledge of diagnosing and repairing faults in AC systems.
* F-Gas Category 1 Certification (essential).
* Full UK driving licence.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Desirable:
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration or equivalent.
* Experience with VRV/VRF systems from manufacturers such as Daikin, Mitsubishi, or Toshiba.
* Experience in small-scale installs.
* CSCS/ECS card.
