Job Title: Repair Engineer

Reports to: Group Repair Operations Manager
Responsible for: Testing, Diagnosing, and repairing parts in accordance with specifications and procedures.

JOB FUNCTION
Reporting to the Group Repair Operations Manager, this exciting new role is responsible for testing, diagnosing and, where capability exists, repairing parts in accordance with specifications and procedures. Assist with the design and implementation of new projects into the Repair Operations workshop and working with TXO and external customers to ensure the successful implementation of new products and services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The following outlines the primary areas of responsibility. Additional responsibilities or functions may be required as necessary to support the business.
* Follow all company Policies and Procedures including but not limited to Quality, Health & Safety, Environment and Information Security.
* Expected to perform any reasonable requests which are not defined but in the ability of the individual
* Test and Repair customer equipment to client requirements
* Ensure that all test specifications are in line with manufacturers or industry standard
* Test, Repair, and Screen equipment and stock and return to working stock with correct identification or prepare dispatch documentation to return back to customers within agreed SLAs
* To effectively manage the handover of relevant projects into the workshop and oversee continuous improvement techniques to new and existing projects with the Repair Operations
* Document all test procedures and processes for the relevant projects and act as principal point of contact/ Subject Matter Expert (SME) of equipment and parts
* Working with wider repair team, to effectively train and develop other Repair Operations Engineers to meet the changing needs of the business and ensure a successful handover of new developments and individual Test Specifications ready to implement with the business
* To meet the needs of the defined budget and understand the financial constraints and parameters within which the projects need to be developed
* Assist with the development, maintenance and update of repair capability within the business
* Track all individual parts process through the screening centre, maintaining a record of equipment identifying and categorising as No-Fault found/Fault identified; Last time part came into Repair Operations; Number of times part has been screened; Warranty status (where possible), etc
* Upgrade parts to be required revision of software and hardware
* Break-down stock to lower order items and return to good stock as requested by client
* Build higher order part from lower order items on request from client and vice-versa
* Self-motivated to develop and increase product knowledge
ABOUT YOU
* Extensive component level repair and screening / testing experience
* Good component understanding
* Ability to reverse engineer boards to understand design and functionality
* PDH/SDH equipment, Digital Microwave, Datacomms, Power supplies, GSM Base Station, Switching Systems
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Sound knowledge of workshop techniques and safety practices
* Working under minimum supervision
* Ability to adapt to customer deadlines
* Enjoy a fast paced, a high-change environment and don't rely on structure / hierarchy to get things done
