Job Description:
The Benefits and Impact Specialist will develop and deliver benefits, monitoring, and evaluation activities for STEP, supporting the creation of a robust evidence base to demonstrate the program's value and impact on the UK fusion strategy. The role involves supporting the Benefits, Monitoring and Evaluation Lead, building databases of evidence, promoting benefit identification, and supporting evaluations to measure effectiveness and efficiency. The position requires engaging with various aspects of the STEP program and liaising with government and organizational stakeholders to ensure effective program delivery and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide the Evidence-Base for Policy and Decision Making: design, manage, and undertake research projects, build internal data collection, and provide training and mentoring.
2. Deliver Impactful Products: produce research reports, briefings, and contribute to business case development.
3. Build a Strong Network: establish relationships across STEP, UKAEA, and relevant government teams, supporting internal and external engagement.
4. Embody a Leadership Mindset: demonstrate leadership behaviors, foster a positive team environment, and act as a cultural ambassador.
Qualifications:
Essential: Experience with program benefits or monitoring and evaluation, data management/analysis, quick grasp of issues, strong interpersonal skills, adaptability.
Desirable: Experience with large-scale evaluations, complex environments, government stakeholders, multidisciplinary collaboration, emerging technologies, and coaching skills.
