Responsibilities
:
1. Act as the key point of contact for health & safety matters within the infrastructure division, with a primary focus on rail projects
2. Conduct internal audits, inspections and ensure compliance with company IMS and industry standards
3. Advise senior leadership on legal compliance and best practices
4. Lead on accident and incident investigations, identifying root causes and driving improvements
5. Support delivery teams with project-specific risk assessments and safe systems of work
6. Collaborate with client HSQE teams to ensure a joined-up approach to safety on joint ventures and frameworks
7. Deliver behavioural safety programmes and toolbox talks alongside the L&D function
8. Monitor and close out non-conformances and support continuous improvement initiatives
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
9. Strong background in H&S management within the rail or wider infrastructure sector
10. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and IOSH (Certified or Chartered)
11. Demonstrable experience with site audits, risk assessments and safe systems of work
12. Track record of liaising with regulatory bodies, clients and operational teams
13. Confident in leading investigations and reporting on findings
14. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
15. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally
