About The Role
You will contribute to new target validation work in the pre-portfolio space by developing the experimental strategy and running suitable experiments to answer key questions critical to generating novel therapeutic concepts.
In addition to conducting lab research the role requires data analysis, communication and presentation to research teams and accurate record keeping.
Who Will I Work With
You will work with multiple teams within research.
What You’ll Do
* Lead projects in the new targets space, validating scientific hypothesis by designing the experimental strategy, developing and conducting laboratory assays, and communicating the findings.
* Contribute to the development of new hypothesis for therapeutic concepts, including literature research, analysis of internal and external datasets (e.g. omics), and use of bioinformatics tools.
* Perform immune cell isolation, culture, and stimulation using human or animal-derived samples.
* Assist in the development and execution of immunoassays (e.g., ELISA, multiplex cytokine assays, MSD).
* Perform cell culture work including maintenance, passaging, and cryopreservation of cell lines and/or primary cells.
* Assist in the development and execution of cell-based assays (e.g. flow cytometry, antigen recall assays, proliferation assays, reporter gene systems, cytotoxicity assays, phagocytosis assays).

For this role you’ll need the following education, experience and skills
* Educated to PhD, with a minimum of 3 years industry experience.
* Project leadership, demonstrating end-to-end thinking and delivery of tangible outcomes.
* Experienced in assay development.
* Familiarity with standard laboratory techniques and equipment.
* Practical experience of cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISA and immunological assays.
* Understanding of immune system components and mechanisms.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
