We are currently seeking to recruit a Buyer to join our dedicated team.
Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team within a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment. This role involves sourcing and purchasing goods and services essential to our operations while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality and timely delivery.
As we modernise our MRP systems, the successful candidate will also play a key role in supporting and contributing to this transition.
Responsibilities
* Source, negotiate and manage supplier relationships to secure the best possible pricing, quality and delivery terms.
* Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and ensure timely procurement of materials.
* Monitor inventory levels and help maintain appropriate stock to support production schedules.
* Assist with the procurement of packing and shipping materials as needed.
* Support the development and optimisation of ERP/MRP systems and processes.
* Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and quality standards.
* Provide cross-functional support to colleagues and contribute to broader team objectives when required.
Skills
* Proven ability to manage a cost-effective, reliable, and quality-focused procurement function.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in supplier management.
* Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team environment.
* Proficient in spreadsheet use and data analysis to support decision-making.
* Experience in negotiating contracts or pricing agreements with vendors.
* Prior experience in engineering or manufacturing sectors is advantageous but not essential.
* Flexible, adaptable, and willing to support wider team needs where necessary.
