About this client/child: Harry is an almost 8-year-old boy; He loves listening to music, painting, sensory activities and playing games with his two younger brothers. Harry also enjoys spending time outdoors where he can listen to the birds and all the sounds of nature. Harry has significant complex care and medical needs; he is totally reliant on others to meet all his needs and is supported by a dedicated care team providing 2:1 24/7 care. He has a visual impairment, using Eye Gaze Technology to support his communication, and is a wheelchair user. He is at the heart of a loving and supportive family, his parents recognise that his team of support workers are instrumental in his overall development, and they ensure their home is a pleasant and professional working environment.
As Harry's Support Worker you will assist with all aspects of his health, care and medical needs. Supporting him in his home, school and out in the community. Training is provided, however due to his level of needs, you must come to this role with complex care and medical experience; a large part of this role involves clinical care. Additional hours available if desired. Team members will be asked to travel to support Harry on holidays in the UK and abroad. This position can be for every weekend, or alternate weekends as a job share.
A positive, resilient, confident and empathetic professional, with previous experience supporting a young person with a high level of complex care needs. This role would also suit someone who is seeking a part-time role, to complement their studies or another part-time position. For this role it is essential that you are a driver (with your own car to travel to the family home), a non-smoker /vaper and seeking a permanent position.
