Job Opportunity

We are looking for a Recovery Worker to join our Criminal Justice team. Your base will be Liskeard.

As a member of our team you will be supporting people who access the service for help with their drug or alcohol use. This exciting role will also continue to allow us to improve the work we have already developed around supporting clients within the criminal justice system.

The role will include covering the courts, prisons and custody suites on a regular basis - working with people awarded a community sentence where mental health, drugs and/or alcohol have been identified. Work closely and collaborate with partner agencies to manage these orders, work directly with individuals released from prison and support multi-agency

plans around them. We are looking for people who have previously worked with individuals in relation to substance misuse or who have equivalent experience working in health, criminal justice ormsocial care settings.

You will have excellent communication and report writing skills, be able to collaboratively work as part of a team and to independently manage a caseload. You may have an awareness of working in a trauma informed way (while this is desirable, training will be provided). Most of all you will demonstrate the enthusiasm to motivate our service users to make the changes they want and need to change their lives for the better.

Essential Skills

We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated individual, with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships. You will have demonstrable experience working within the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, or a clear motivation for wanting to work in the drug and alcohol sector. A successful track record of providing efficient and reliable customer service is essential.

You will be highly organised, have excellent communication skills, and be able to manage your time effectively. You will work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure a high-quality service is maintained. Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do and has a positive and engaging approach to our clients and key stakeholders.

* Have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months
* Have demonstrable experience of working or volunteering in health, social care, criminal justice, or other specialist setting
* Successful track record of working or volunteering with people who have experienced substance misuse issues
* Have a driving license with access to a vehicle
* Have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
* Be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed
* Be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise your work
* Have good oral and written communication skills
* Be IT competent
* Able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion
* Be happy to support other With You locations when needed

DE&I

As an organisation, we continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports and celebrates the diverse voices and experiences of our staff. We know that representing the communities we serve is key to us meeting our vision of a future where everyone lives a life free from the harm associated with drugs and alcohol. We welcome the unique contributions that you can bring and we encourage people from underrepresented communities and backgrounds to apply to join our team, including people with lived experience, people with disabilities, people from racialised communities, LGBTQ+ people, people of all ages and armed forces veterans.

As part of our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant we provide a guaranteed interview scheme for candidates that are veterans and meet all the essential criteria for a role. With You is also a Disability Confident Employer and we offer a guaranteed interview scheme for candidates with a disability and meet all the essential criteria for a role.

If you have a disability, a learning difficulty such as dyslexia or a medical condition which you believe may affect your performance during any aspect of our selection process, we’ll be happy to make reasonable adjustments to enable you to perform at your best.
