SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School, Sefton (ASAP Start) A welcoming primary school in Sefton is seeking a caring, reliable, and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. Role Responsibilities Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including communication, behavioural, and learning needs.Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions to help pupils access the curriculum.Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities and resources.Help maintain an inclusive, positive and safe classroom environment.Work closely with the SENCO, teaching staff, and external professionals to implement support plans.Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour across the school day. Experience Needed Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.Previous experience supporting pupils with SEN, such as ASD, ADHD, speech & language needs, or social/ emotional difficulties (highly desirable).Ability to follow structured routines, use support strategies, and manage behaviour calmly and confidently.Strong communication skills and the ability to build supportive relationships with pupils. Qualifications Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (CACHE/NCFE or equivalent).GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent).A 'full and relevant' Early Years/TA qualification if working within EYFS ratios.Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
