New Directions Education is recruiting inspiring and dedicated Teachers to provide cover within the Primary school setting. We work alongside some of the biggest as well as the smallest schools in the Caerphilly Borough to help with their supply/cover needs. This could be daily cover as well as long term cover and this role would suit both NQT’s and experienced teachers.
We are seeking candidates to cover within Additional Learning Needs schools, Units and Resource bases as well as Pupil Referral Units.
At New Directions, we care about the schools and offer a variety of free training to staff as well as the children. We also offer free Intro to Sign workshops to Key Stage 2 children and we can also provide a free inflatable penalty shoot out to schools to assist with fundraising incentives.
We also care about our candidates and offer a variety of CPD learning opportunities and host multiple webinars/seminars during the half term breaks. Some of these are Incidental Welsh, Introduction to Sign, Assessment for Learning, Mindfulness and Wellbeing plus many more.
NQT’s will also benefit from our newly launched NQT Support Programme where you will also have a dedicated NQT consultant, talks/webinars from the EWC and Central South Consortium as well as valuable advice from Headteacher’s on what to expect in your NQT year, Lesson Observation tips and CV/Cover letter advise.

To work in an Additional Learning Needs (ALN) role you will need:
5. Experience working in an ALN environment or transferrable skills
6. Enhanced DBS Certificate – available through us!
7. Flexibility and adaptability to work short-term and long-term.
