About the Role
Join Our Client South Gloucestershire Council's Team as a Traffic Engineer! Are you passionate about creating safe and efficient roadways? Our client, a leading organization in the engineering sector, is looking for an enthusiastic Traffic Engineer to join the team.
Responsibilities
* Design and supervise traffic schemes and collaborate with in‑house teams to integrate street furniture such as lighting, structures, and traffic signals, while managing scheme budgets.
* Prepare construction information and relevant Health and Safety documents in compliance with CDM Regulations for contractor implementation.
* Engage with community stakeholders – conduct consultations with the public, councillors, and parish councils, and prepare objection reports for presentation to the Director of Environment and Community Services.
* Support senior engineers, delegate tasks to junior staff and meet team objectives to enhance project delivery.
Qualifications
* A degree in engineering or an equivalent (HNC/HND) in a related discipline.
* Considerable relevant work experience with a solid understanding of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Traffic Signs Regulations, and General Directions.
* Familiarity with Health and Safety legislation, including CDM Regulations.
* Proven ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
* Experience in writing detailed reports for senior management and councillors, with exceptional attention to detail.
* Experience supervising junior technicians and delegating tasks.
* A full and current driving licence for site visits around South Gloucestershire.
