Are you passionate about supporting autistic children and helping them thrive in an educational environment? Academics is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Practitioner to join a welcoming SEN school in Bromley .
The Role
As an Autism Practitioner, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Implement personalised learning and behaviour plans
Use strategies such as TEACCH, PECS, social stories, sensory-based approaches and visual timetables
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs to ensure consistent, high-quality support
Foster independence, communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
Help create a safe, structured, and positive environment for all pupils
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience supporting children or young people with autism (school, care, therapy, or community setting)
Brings patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference
Is confident using autism-friendly strategies and approaches
Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
Is proactive, resilient, and committed to inclusive education
