Safety System Design Engineers – Driving Innovation in Nuclear Safety

Working in a hybrid environment, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop robust electrical, control, and instrumentation solutions that protect people, assets, and the environment.
Required Skills
Proven experience in electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering with a strong focus on safety system design
Expertise in designing and verifying safety-related control systems in accordance with relevant nuclear industry standards and regulatory requirements
Proficiency in safety lifecycle processes, risk assessment, and functional safety methodologies (e.g., IEC 61508, IEC 61513)
Strong technical knowledge of control system architectures, hardware, and software integration
Ability to interpret and apply complex technical specifications and regulatory guidelines
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail and a proactive approach to safetyNice to Have Skills
Experience working on nuclear or other highly regulated infrastructure projects
Familiarity with digital instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs and SCADA
Knowledge of project management principles and experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams
Exposure to safety case development and safety audit processes
Certification in functional safety or related professional qualificationsPreferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
Minimum 5 years’ experience in safety system design, ideally within the nuclear or energy sectorOther Requirements
Willingness to work on-site at the Warrington location, with flexible hybrid working arrangements available
Commitment to working a minimum of 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
