Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure the Leeds site provides the highest standard and quality of goods at all times through implementation of effective monitoring processes.
* Ensure compliance to Food Safety Standards.
* Facilitate audits both internally and externally, including second and third‑party audits.
* Responsible for data collection and analysis, including root‑cause analysis following complaints.
* Primary point of contact for all quality‑related queries (customers and internal).
* Manage customer complaints and database entry, respond to customers with satisfactory outcomes.
* Continuously monitor and review processes for real‑time problem identification, analysis and resolution.
* Visit customer sites when required to maintain excellent customer relations and improve quality performance.
* Lead quality meetings involving relevant personnel to resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.
* Provide employee training on new processes and initiatives using visual aids, training documents, lesson plans and skill validations.
* Produce reports and presentations for customers and internal management on quality or continuous improvement projects.
* Oversee corrective actions for quality issues, working with line managers and operators on continuous improvement solutions.
* Assist the Senior Quality Manager with effective management and tracking of key quality or continuous improvement projects, ensuring deadlines are met and targets achieved.
* Assist in maintaining compliance, enhancement and reaccreditation of BRC, ISO 9001, HAVI, FSC and PEFC.
* Prepare, coordinate and lead customer or third‑party audits on site.
* Perform internal audits on site.
* Manage Quality Technicians and Quality Coordinators at Leeds.
* Audit preparation and liaison with key personnel to ensure timely corrective action.
* Deputise for the Senior Quality Manager when required.

TECHNICAL SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
* Member of HACCP team and internal auditor experience
* Experience with ISO 9001 and BRCGS alignment and certification requirements
* At least 3 years experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing area, preferably in the packaging sector
* Competent in Microsoft products, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
* Relevant qualification in Quality, Manufacturing or Supervisory up to level 5 is a distinct advantage
* HACCP training at level 2 or higher
* Must hold a current, valid, unblemished UK driving licence
