Manufacturing Engineer – Milling

Start Date: April 2026
Rate: £50 – £55 per hour (Umbrella) OR up to £48,000 per annum
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer specialising in advanced 5-axis milling operations to support their growing aerospace programmes. As a CNC Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, optimising, and supporting complex milling processes within a high-precision aerospace manufacturing environment.
You will work closely with production, quality, and design engineering teams to ensure robust, repeatable, and cost-effective manufacturing solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a world-class engineering environment delivering high-precision components to the global aerospace market.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement CNC manufacturing processes for complex aerospace components
Create and optimise 5-axis milling programs (online and offline)
Programme using Siemens NX CAD/CAM
Support and improve machining strategies for high-value, tight-tolerance components
Reduce cycle times while maintaining aerospace quality standards
Lead process validation, first article inspections, and PPAP support where required
Provide technical support to shop floor machinists
Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across milling operations
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience as a CNC Manufacturing Engineer within aerospace or high-precision manufacturing
Strong expertise in 5-axis milling operations
Experience working with DMG Mori Seiki and Mazak machining centres
Strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems
Advanced Siemens NX CAD/CAM programming capability (online and offline)
Experience working with complex alloys (e.g. titanium, Inconel, aluminium aerospace grades)
Strong understanding of GD&T and aerospace quality standards
