A well-established and forward-thinking school in Trowbridge is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to take responsibility for the effective management, safety, and long-term development of the school’s premises. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in January or by agreement, offering a senior operational role within a well-led and professionally run organisation. Job Overview You will be responsible for: • Overseeing the day-to-day management of the school’s buildings, grounds, and facilities to ensure they are safe, secure, and well presented • Ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislation, including risk assessments, statutory checks, and audit requirements • Managing both planned and reactive maintenance schedules, prioritising works to minimise disruption to learning • Leading, supervising, and supporting site staff, caretakers, and cleaning teams • Managing and monitoring external contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard • Managing facilities budgets, procurement processes, and supplier relationships • Supporting long-term estates planning, refurbishment projects, and site development initiatives • Acting as a key point of contact for site-related matters for senior leadership The School This Trowbridge school is recognised for: • Clear operational structures and high standards of site and facilities management • Well-maintained buildings, grounds, and specialist facilities • Supportive senior leadership with clear lines of communication • A strong focus on safeguarding, compliance, and pupil safety • A professional, collaborative, and well-organised working environment Experience & Qualifications • Proven experience in facilities, estates, or site management within a school or similar setting • Strong working knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements • Experience managing staff teams, contractors, and facilities budgets • Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and manage competing priorities Application Please submit your CV to be considered for this Facilities Manager position in Trowbridge.
