Speech and Language Therapy Services Manager

Job Summary: The Speech and Language Therapy Service Manager will be a key member of the Care Group F's Senior Leadership Team and will be accountable for the delivery of the care group's performance, financial, quality, safety, risk and patient experience performance. The post holder will shape and deliver the Care Group's strategy in conjunction with the Trust's overall strategies and objectives.
Main responsibilities
* Work alongside the Therapies senior leadership team, providing comprehensive professional leadership, guidance, and support to the Speech and Language Therapy profession across the Care Group and the Trust.
* Lead the promotion of Speech and Language Therapy Services, integrating national and local initiatives such as government targets and NICE guidelines into clinical practice.
* Write profession‑specific policies, guidelines, and Standards of Practice; review and update the operational policy, SOPs, departmental policies, and patient information leaflets annually.
* Ensure compliance with Trust and departmental policies, Health and Safety legislation, and risk management procedures.
* Accountable for operational management, balancing priorities within available financial, staffing, and other resources.
* Plan, develop, coordinate, deliver, monitor, and evaluate services in line with the Trust Strategy.
* Support workforce review, transformation programmes, and business cases for service level agreements and contracts.
* Represent the service in Trust meetings, local CCG meetings, and other external forums.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications:
* BSc Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
* Registration with Health & Care Professions Council.
Essential Experience:
* Significant managerial and/or leadership experience.
* Experience managing, reviewing, planning, developing and monitoring services.
* Experience of budget management.

Contract & Salary
Permanent, Full‑time, Band 8b, £64,455 to £74,896 a year.
Location
